Bio: Hi there, my name is Laura and I am a therapist here at Counselling & Co. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as your authentic self and be met with unconditional support. No matter what your goals and hopes might be for therapy, I am here to meet you with warmth, empathy, and understanding each step of the way. Through our work together, we can get clarity on what truly matters to you and your vision for a more balanced, joyful future. With your hopes in mind, and with a caring therapist by your side, you can make aligned, meaningful changes that create positive waves throughout many aspects of your life. This work has gifted me the privilege of getting to know so many incredible people and I look forward to seeing your true self, embracing the not-always-linear phases of healing, and cheering you on throughout your journey. When life gets challenging, having supportive people in your corner can be crucial. I am honoured to be a supportive presence when you need one the most- to really listen, help process, and find meaning. Over the years I have learned how truly important community is to our wellbeing, and I strive to be that person who can help you regain your light and sense of connection to yourself and others. Life transitions, even the most joyful ones, can bring up stress, overwhelm, and sometimes feelings of grief for how things were before. Whether you are a hopeful parent working through fertility options or considering adoption, a new mother trying to maintain a sense of self while navigating all that goes along with your role, a couple
wanting to be intentional about moving in together or marriage, or perhaps someone looking to process a challenging breakup or loss, therapy can provide that purposeful, dedicated time for processing your emotions. Together, we can work to gain understanding and meaning from your past, build up resilience and coping strategies in the present, and walk towards a values-driven and aligned future. A great deal of my clinical work has focused on ADHD and executive functioning strategies. Whether this be helping students break unhelpful procrastination tendencies and build effective study habits, or helping adults to find a sense of calm in the chaos and create systems that really work for their unique mind, I truly enjoy walking alongside people as they discover their potential. Life does not have to be a constant uphill battle- I would be so happy to help you create strategies to thrive at school, work, and home with a sense of confidence and balance. Reaching out for help is a brave step. Your future self will be so appreciative of the work you are doing now. If you feel ready to move forward with getting the support you deserve, I look forward to hearing your story.
I have had the privilege of supporting people of all ages through their most challenging moments. My goal is for you to feel safe and empowered to draw on your unique strengths, and through these we can make meaningful progress towards your goals. Some of these may include:
● Strengthening emotional attunement, especially during challenging times ● Increasing sense of connection to yourself, others, and the world ● Reflecting on and processing past experiences ● Building resilience and coping strategies for anxiety and stress ● Identifying systems that work for your unique brain and learning style ● Improving communication strategies ● Creating and maintaining healthy boundaries ● Learning to trust yourself and others ● Processing trauma and grief to rebuild a sense of safety ● Reconnecting with yourself and your values
I have a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology and am registered with the CRPO as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Previously, I attended Queen’s University for my Bachelor of Arts Honours and Bachelor of Education. I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and my experience working in the education system informs my approach to supporting youth and their families.

Therapist In Training
Hello! I am Gabriel, a dedicated therapist in training here at Counselling & Co., specializing in child and adolescent development. From the very start of my career, I pursued extensive training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychology, and child studies, and have been committed to supporting children and families ever since. My passion for this field grew from early experiences that highlighted the transformative impact of thoughtful, individualized psychotherapeutic approaches, and this is exactly what I hope to be able to offer you and your family.
I have had the privilege of working with children from diverse backgrounds, with diverse presenting concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, conduct disorders, depression, learning challenges, OCD, trauma, eating disorders and so much more. These experiences have enabled me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of your child and family constellation. I intend to bring a thoughtful but playful energy into each session. My job is to learn about the inner world of your child and to understand the way they think, feel and react to the world around them.
My training has been instrumental in deepening my understanding and application of psychoanalytic techniques across ages and stages of development. It has equipped me with the tools necessary to address and help your child overcome factors that may be disruptive to their emotional development and overall growth. I really appreciate being able to bring enrichment, meaning-making, and creativity alongside the integration of psychoanalytic interventions to enhance their therapeutic experience.
My practice is built upon a foundation of a positive humanistic approach, a rigorous analytical framework, and a deeply held belief in the potential and resilience of every individual. My goal in working with your kiddo will also include working to understand your family dynamics and parent-child relationships. I strive to create a supportive and safe environment for your child and your family to discover your path to emotional well-being and familial growth.
I am committed to understanding and nurturing the unique emotional landscape of each child and family. With a tailored, empathic approach I strive to empower children and adolescents to navigate their emotions and develop healthier relationships. Together we’ll overcome difficulties and nourish the resilience to maintain ourselves with:
Engaging and Fun Experience: The therapeutic space is not only safe and welcoming but also fun and engaging. I integrate play therapy intrinsically into our sessions, making therapy a playful and enjoyable experience that helps children express themselves and learn in a manner that feels natural and enjoyable.
Empathic Understanding: I bring a deep empathy and understanding to each session, ensuring that you feel heard and validated.
Personalized Approach: I tailor each session to the individual needs of the child and family, acknowledging and respecting their unique circumstances and backgrounds.
Positive and Humanistic: My practice is grounded in a positive humanistic approach, focusing on the potential and goodness in every child.
Liaison with Educational Staff: I am experienced and willing to communicate with teachers and school staff, focusing on strategies and approaches that prioritize and enhance the child’s mental health and overall well-being.
Safe and Welcoming Environment: The therapeutic space is designed to be a safe haven, where children and families can freely express themselves without judgment.
Collaborative Atmosphere: I foster a collaborative relationship not only with the child but also with the entire family, involving them in the therapeutic process.
Commitment to Growth: I am dedicated to facilitating not just short-term coping but long-term personal growth and emotional resilience.
Cultural Sensitivity: Recognizing and respecting diverse backgrounds, I ensure that our therapeutic approaches are culturally sensitive and inclusive.
Let’s work together to build a brighter, more confident future for your loved one.

I started my journey in the field of mental health by completing a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care at Humber College, prior to starting a Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychology from Yorkville University. I love working with people across the developmental lifespan, from teens all the way through to adulthood.
During the years I worked with children, youth, and families, I learned an abundance from clients and the community. While we work together, you can expect a warm and safe place to identify and explore all of your doubts, confusion, and triggers. We will create a menu of coping mechanisms and increase your abilities to approach your problems from a place of curiosity and compassion. Emotionally Focused Therapy as a model of care, can be such a great tool to help you learn how to handle emotions rather than feel the need to avoid them or overexpress them, which can lead to stress, anxiety, depression even loneliness.
One of my areas of focus is working with clients living with ADHD and co-morbid issues including depression, anxiety and learning difficulties. Do you notice that ADHD is making it difficult to manage the details of life and has you lacking self-confidence to regulate your emotions or interact with the others? If you are looking for non-medication treatment options to feel more motivated, focused, organized, and performing closer to your true potential then please reach out. Together, we will use a combination of practical interventions and emotional regulations strategies to have you feeling more grounded and confident living with ADHD.
I do come with my own experiences of burnout and trauma, which have humbled me and allow me to empathize deeply with the impact of these experiences. Relationships can be our safe haven from these traumas, but they can also sometimes be the cause of our distress. Individual and couples counselling can be a brilliant place to slow down so that we can pay close attention to our patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving in the present moment. Emotionally Focused Therapy is intentional and provides individuals and couples a map to understanding their distress, while clearing the path towards a more connected and fulfilling bond with self and other.
I do understand that there is discomfort in being vulnerable, but I have also witnessed the gifts of closeness and comfort it brings, when done in a safe therapeutic space. I hope you will feel inspired to open up, explore yourself and your relationships past and present, through our work together.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, playing soccer, baking, painting, figure skating, mindfulness, and exploring nature. I also enjoy spending quality time with family, friends, and my dog.

Hi there, I’m Danielle, an associate therapist here at Counselling & Co. My goal is to create a safe space where you can fully embrace your vulnerability. I believe we are hardwired for connection and need to be fully at peace with who we are, to be able to build genuine and authentic relationships with others. You’ll notice how I fiercely love this work and the space we build together, creating a place where you feel truly seen and supported. I’ll work with you and your unique needs, focusing first on building a strong, trusting connection. The client-therapist relationship is everything, and it’s a key part of your success in therapy. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable, safe, and free to embrace your vulnerability—because being yourself is where the real healing begins. This work has given me the privilege of meeting some of the most incredible people and supporting them in discovering their passion and the powerful confidence they hold within themselves. Navigating hardship and roadblocks in life can be tough to do alone, and I’m truly honoured to walk beside you as we unpack and process these obstacles together. I come to the table with my own experiences of complex family challenges, trauma, problematic substance use, and burnout which have all played their part in building who I am today. It’s through these experiences that I’ve learned the power of growth and resilience, and I’m here to support you in discovering that strength within yourself.
For the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside children, adolescents, and their families as they face and navigate life’s toughest challenges. Most of my work has been with young people and their families in times of hardship, confusion, and crisis. It has been a gift to support these young people through their struggles with impulse control, building secure relationships, and finding their emotional balance. While I’ve worked with many adolescents dealing with acute and chronic mental health issues, including suicidality, my heart is also deeply invested in supporting mothers. As a mom of two, I know firsthand the pressures and joys of parenthood and the balancing act it takes. That’s why working with perinatal and postpartum moms is something I’m fiercely passionate about. I truly believe in supporting women through this beautiful, yet challenging season of life. My goal when we work together is for you to feel truly seen and heard, as we uncover the tools to help you step into the best, most empowered version of yourself. - Reconnect with yourself - Discover who it is you truly want to become. - Learn to communicate with others or improve your ability to communicate. - Unpack your strengths and passion. - Learn positive coping skills. - Learn to trust yourself. - Process motherhood and all that comes with it. - Unpack your anger and build healthy relationships. Navigate problematic substance use concerns. - Explore parenting through the challenges of adolescents. - Establish boundaries while still finding space for complex relationships.
I graduated with my Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychology from Yorkville University and completed my undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care. I also completed the Social Service Worker diploma program at Sheridan College. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I continue my education by taking new courses and diplomas to better support the individuals I work with. I have certifications in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (level one), San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety, and SMART Recovery. Additionally, I am currently working on completing certifications on the Advance Treatments of Personality Disorders, and DBT.
My theme song would be a combination of Eminem’s “not afraid” and Dylan Scott’s “Good Times Go by Too Fast”. I believe that a good fitness class is the cure to a bad day. I’ve done some pretty hard things in life but then I decided to have two daughters 22 months a part.

Through my own life experiences, I’ve come to understand that psychological pain and distress impact every aspect of our daily lives, relationships, and self-concept. While the effects of this distress often hold us back in our lives and keep us from connecting to our most authentic selves, they can also give us the courage to pursue the counselling process. By bringing yourself here, you have already taken the hardest step.
Together, we will explore your sociocultural identities and lived experiences through a culturally-respectful, non-judgmental lens, as I strive to guide you on a collaborative journey of self-compassion and finding meaning in your unique story. Empathy will set the tone as we reflect and work together. I have also completed an externship in Emotionally-Focused Therapy which informs the work I do with couples to identify patterns of communication and connection in order to deepen both.
My interests as a therapist are influenced by my BIPOC sociocultural identity, which has provided me with personal experience as a biracial, bicultural parent and has shaped my worldview and understanding of how our identities influence our understanding of who we are in the world. Additionally, I have personal experience supporting neurordiversity and continually work to grow my understanding of the mental health impact of ableism on neurodiverse folks through collaboration and continuing education within this community. I enjoy supporting couples in which one of the partners is neurodivergent and have attended workshops to further explore this dynamic.
The modalities I use in practice include but are not limited to: Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Person-Centred, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
If you are struggling to feel connected to your authentic self and long for permission to explore your own wants and needs, therapy can provide a safe space to seek meaning and begin to plant seeds of hope for yourself. It is a great privilege to watch my clients begin to bloom in these ways, and I look forward to each journey that I am invited on.

Hello, my name is Jen and I am a Registered Psychotherapist who has been working in the Addictions and Mental Health field for the past 20 years. I specialize in working with adults/youth and families dealing with substance use, mental health, and related issues. I work from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach however I draw on various therapeutic models such as Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Brief/Solution Focused Therapy to fit your needs.
Using motivational interviewing, I focus on building a therapeutic relationship and formulating a treatment plan based on your chosen goal respecting the ideas of harm reduction. I hope to increase your internal motivation to change unwanted behaviours, in turn increasing your self-esteem and self-confidence. My work is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented; it is empathetic, non-judgmental, and culturally and religiously sensitive. I feel it is important to focus on treatment from a cultural lens to assist in developing healthy mental, emotional, and behavioral goals in collaboration with your exploration of your values and beliefs. Substance use is a symptom of an underlying issue and it is a way to cope with and manage an underlying problem.
Life can be challenging and it is very easy to get stuck in an emotional vortex and not be able to find a way out. By examining your thoughts, behaviours, and feelings the hope is to distance you from the dependence on a substance to escape and start the healing process to re-align you with your core beliefs and values.

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to compassion, equity, integrity, and support. I have worked extensively with diverse and marginalized populations, recognizing the profound impact of systemic barriers, cultural experiences, and personal histories on mental health.
My approach is culturally responsive, inclusive, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where clients feel truly heard, respected, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences without fear of judgment.

I have personal experience with perinatal and menopausal well-being, supporting neurodivergent children and adults, supporting loved ones through mental health challenges, and managing complex elder caregiving (the “sandwich generation”).
These experiences have deepened my appreciation for human resilience, the importance of personal stories, and the power that comes from being truly being seen and heard.
Why Work With Me Whether you are struggling with emotional distress, feeling stuck in negative patterns, or seeking greater clarity and confidence in your life, I am here to provide empowering support for your journey.
I like providing support, guidance and help in unravelling life’s “knots”. Together, we can work towards greater clarity, healing, and emotional well-being. Your journey matters, and I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way

Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, or major life transitions, I integrate evidence-based strategies that promote healing, growth, and self-discovery.
Using a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-informed care, and attachment-based principles, I help clients:
Process difficult emotions such as grief, shame, fear, and anger in a non-threatening way
Identify and shift negative relational patterns that create distance in relationships
Develop healthier ways to express needs and vulnerabilities, fostering deeper connections

Linh is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who completed her Master of Arts Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Linh is honoured to have the opportunity to support both individuals and couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy. Clients know her best for her calming and compassionate presence, which is vital to cultivating a safe and inviting therapeutic environment. Her commitment to being emotionally present and attuned, allows for there to be space for whatever lived experiences you bring forth to explore in therapy. Linh’s approach is relational and client-centered, which means she is always thinking about you in relationship, even if you are working with her individually. In part, what informs Linh’s therapeutic practice, is the understanding that as human beings, we rarely thrive in isolation and often learn about the world and ourselves through relationship. It is when these relationships are struggling or we are feeling alone, anxious or experiencing symptoms of depression, that we struggle. Which is why Linh is excited to work with you to strengthen the relationship you have with yourself and with other, in the hopes of finding more joy and fulfilment in your day-to-day life.
As an immigrant herself, Linh has developed a deep understanding of the kinds of challenges that arise from such transitions as relocating to a new home and community. She brings about the unique lived experience of understanding individuals and couples with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, who may also be experiencing marginalization as they settle in their new community. This is why it is so important to Linh to work with a focus on being culturally sensitive and responsive to your unique needs. She feels passionately about exploring life transitions and cultural influence on people’s perception of themselves, their environment, and how these influence the way you show up in the world. She will work collaboratively alongside you, as you explore your strengths and release what no longer serves your mental, emotional and physical self. She will make space for you to grow and heal, both individually and within relationships.
Outside of professional life, Linh has been volunteering with Ontario Psychotherapy and Counselling Referral Directory as an assistant clinical supervisor. She enjoys reading, hiking and learning new languages in her spare time. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Linh’s family background is deeply rooted in the importance of family connection.

Jessica is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO and has her Masters of Science degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph.
Jessica has extensive experience working with children, teens and families through her past work in Children’s Mental Health agencies in Toronto and Milton. She believes that it is through family therapy we can begin to understand and work through past inter-generational trauma, issues in communication, how culture and society influence our family structure and teaching our kids the skills they need to succeed in the future. She has been doing some of this work herself as she navigates her own growing family and what she hopes to take forward from her family of origin and what she hopes to leave behind.
Furthermore, her experience in EFT, Gottman, and sex therapy has been useful in helping couples work on strengthening their relationship and moving closer to the kind of relationship they want. Jessica equates a couple’s relationship being like that of a foundation of a house. If the foundation is rocky and has gaps in it, it will collapse and fall. In this way, we want to help couples work on filling in those gaps in their relationship through communication, connection, and vulnerability.
Jessica is also very passionate around inviting in conversations around how privilege, marginalization, oppression and power dynamics influence our lives and our relationships. We are not vacuums and so it would be naïve to assume that these factors don’t influence our day to day lives. It is her hope to work from a systemic and non-judgmental approach to be able to examine these delicate parts of our lives more closely.
In her free time, Jessica loves to travel, explore new restaurants or recipes, go hiking, or spend quality time with her family and friends. She loves learning new things and will often pick up a new hobby to learn; recently it’s sewing!

As an attachment based psychotherapist in training, my work is rooted in the belief that every single person deserves to be seen, heard and validated – no one gets left behind. Relationships are vital to our health and well-being, as such, a lot of my work is rooted in supporting individuals and couples cultivate deeply fulfilling relationships. In our work together we will slow down and explore patterns of disconnection and miscommunication. I understand what it feels like to be in a toxic relationship and how it feels impossible to see how it can get better. But it can. We will co-create a safe space for you to get in touch with your inner emotional world, desires for closeness and get you to a place where you are feeling more flexible and confident in the way you respond to those you love. I want to assure you that through a collaborative approach, we will go at a pace that feels right for you and always with the utmost compassion and empathy.
One of my passions is working with highly sensitive people (HSP). I myself identify as an HSP, which means I get how exhausting it is to over think situations and wear your heart on your sleeve. I do understand how one can be easily overwhelmed by their environment or want to avoid upsetting or overwhelming situations. I have worked hard to honor my sensitivity and find ways to stay grounded (which includes lots of sleep!) and I want to support you in exploring what this might look like for you. Emotionally Focused Therapy is such a gift in that it will help you to organize and process everything you feel, providing you more control over how you experience and express your emotions, music to an HSP’s ears.
I work with a lot of young adults struggling to transition into or out of post-secondary education, new careers and relationships. A lot of my clients identify as being a “rock” to their friends and family but struggle to feel as though they have someone to provide them with the same support. I get what it’s like to have really high expectations for yourself and feeling unsure of how to manage all of the self-doubt that exists within. Together, we will explore your familial relationships, experiences and upbringing to uncover where it is that you developed these ways of being so that we can get you feeling more comfortable and confident in how you relate to yourself and your loved ones.
I encourage you to reach out and schedule a meet and greet, so we can get started in creating a life that has you feeling excited, joyous and proud. You don’t have to go at this alone.

Hello, my name is Sarah Wood, and I am a Registered Social Worker with 14 years of social work experience at the community level. I understand how vulnerable and challenging it can be to reach out for help. It requires strength and sacrifice to commit to giving time to work on yourself and your relationship. I have engaged in both individual and couples therapy myself and know first-hand how daunting it can be to show the best and worst parts of ourselves to a stranger. Because of this personal experience, I prioritize making my clients feel welcome and comfortable to truly be themselves in our sessions. You can rest assured that you will not experience criticism or be shamed throughout our time together, as I believe we all have good reasons for the ways we feel, think and behave. My approach isn’t about determining right or wrong, it is about finding new ways of interacting with self and other, to deepen connection and create more fulfilling relationships.
I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is a leading evidence-based approach for relational and couple work. I help individuals and couples become aware of their emotional and behavioural patterns so that we may understand their origins and if these patterns are continuing to serve you. In our work together, we will privilege emotion. I will help you to slow down, get clearer with your emotional signals, so you can respond and be responded to in the ways you or your loved one need. Together, we will identify your triggers, bring emotion to life in the “room” and make meaning of these experiences in the present moment, so that you will feel better equipped to try these new ways of being and relating out in your day-today life.
As a queer identified therapist, I call on my own lived experience and training when working through an attachment framework with LGBTQ+ clients. I understanding that there are many different intersecting identities and possible attachment injuries when exploring clients attachment histories and relational distress. I respect and value that you are the expert in your own life and through our work together, will honour you strengths & resilience. My personal strengths include building genuine connection, fostering emotional safety and providing a space where you can feel at ease so that we may explore challenging experiences and emotions.
